Description
This comprehensive, intergenerational curriculum focuses on the food we eat and why it matters. Featuring 8 lessons with Scripture, prayers, resources, and activities for young children through adults, “Eating Well” will challenge and inspire your church or community group.
Who
Developed by the NC Council of Churches for Children, Youth and Adults
What
8 week curriculum with leader’s guide, activities, and discussion questions
Where
Perfect for Sunday School, Bible Study, Small Group, or even larger group settings. Lessons could even stand alone to introduce a topic, such as how our food choices impact creation.
Why
Everyone eats. Our relationship with food is as simple — and as complex — as that. Every living thing is dependent on nutrition, which makes food an incredibly valuable resource. And how we get it, who gets enough of it, and the choices we make around it become critical social justice issues.
When
First edition published: Eastertide, 2012
Updated: Epiphany, 2013
Updated: Summer, 2014
Using the Eating Well Curriculum in our Congregation really opened our eyes to the number of justice implications of the food we eat every day. We have made changes in our home and the awareness of health and food justice in our congregation began with the discussions of Eating Well.”
